this sentence, *Warning: OTC Cough Medicine Scam Alert! Have you heard the "news"? Have you heard that an affordable and popular "over-the-counter" (i.e., OTC) cough medicine doesn't work? If you have, then I want you to know that I am 100% convinced that this claim is a load of "bull", and I want to tell you what (I strongly suspect) is really going on here. I think that certain “Powers That Be” (i.e. PTB) in the pharmaceutical industry have decided to get "Dextromorphan HBR" taken off the shelves because it competes with more expensive and more profitable prescription cough medicines. Thus, I want to go on record, right now, to state that Dextromorphan HBR works far better than many, if not most, prescription cough medicines. If this OTC cough medicine is not working for you, it is likely because you did not take a proper or adequate dosage (for your body weight) or perhaps you have one heck of a serious cough that no non-narcotic cough medicine could alleviate. And no, I have done no studies on this, but I can tell you from decades of experience, having suffered through many bad summer allergy flare-ups (and coming from absolutely no monetary incentive), that this medicine works, and it works well. If you disagree because it hasn't worked for you, I'll bet that you are not taking it as frequently as directed, or ***you may need a slightly higher dose than is recommended on the bottle directions. By the way, I believe that the 4-hour version is (while inconvenient) superior to the long lasting 12-hour version. However, as they say, "YMMV" (i.e. Your Mileage May Vary).
